Skill reference

Skills are the toggleable capabilities a Simple project is built from. Turn a skill on from the project’s Skills page, fill in its settings, and it’s part of the agent on the next call — no redeploy needed.

Answers caller questions from a connected knowledge base.

  • Needs: a knowledge base connected to the project.
  • Settings: Topic, Answering directive, Answer only from the knowledge base.

Answers hours, address, phone number and other business facts directly, without a lookup delay.

  • Needs: nothing extra.
  • Settings: Business name, Address, Opening hours, Phone number, Website, Other facts. During setup, opening hours found on your website or in your documents are filled in as suggestions for you to review.

Answers what you offer — services, prices and durations.

  • Needs: nothing extra.
  • Settings: Services (with prices), Pricing notes.

Books, reschedules and cancels appointments against your calendar, checking availability before confirming.

  • Needs: a calendar connected. You’ll be prompted to connect one from the skill’s settings.
  • Settings: Default appointment length, Booking window, Ask for a phone number, Ask for an email.

Collects the answers to a list of questions during the call and stores them.

  • Needs: nothing extra.
  • Settings: Questions to ask.

Offers to take a callback request within your call-back windows, instead of making the caller wait.

  • Needs: nothing extra.
  • Settings: Call-back windows, Ask for the caller’s name, Confirmation line.

Ends the call cleanly, optionally with a spoken summary of what was covered. Always included — it can’t be turned off.

  • Needs: nothing extra.
  • Settings: Summarise before ending.

Silence is handled for every call, whatever the skills: after 120 seconds without the caller speaking the agent says a short warning, and the call ends 15 seconds later. There is no separate “hang up after” setting.

Transfers the caller to a human. Coming soon, alongside phone-trunk support — not yet available on Simple projects. Use the Callback skill in the meantime to offer a call back instead of a live transfer.
