Organizations & Projects

An organization is the top-level container for billing, membership, and subscription. Every user belongs to one or more organizations. Organizations have a type, which determines which portal surface(s) are available to them:

Organization typePortalPurpose
standardapp. onlyThe default — a customer building hotline and/or platform projects.
partnerapp. + partners.A referral or reseller partner; see Partner.

An organization has exactly one type. A managed organization (a customer of a partner) is a standard organization that carries a managingPartnerId back-reference, which is how a partner organization’s members get access to administer it without changing its own type or billing setup — see Managed organizations.

Projects live inside an organization and hold the actual work: flows, phone numbers, knowledge bases, and agent profiles. A project has a type:

Project typeWhat it is
hotline (default)A phone-answering (and/or web-embedded) voice agent project: flows, phone numbers, knowledge bases, call history/analytics.
platformAn API-consumption project: no flows or phone numbers. Its surface is API keys, usage, and an invoice preview on platform.testing.nairon.cloud.

Choosing platform as the project type is how you get access to the OpenAI-compatible Platform API and the Service API control plane under that project’s API keys — see the Platform.

Platform projects in the app are coming soon; existing platform API keys keep working.

A platform project’s home is the platform console, not the app dashboard. In your organization’s project list a platform project is marked with a Platform badge; selecting it opens that project’s console, where its API keys, usage, and invoice preview live. Organization admins can start a new one straight from the same project list by choosing New platform project. If you are already signed in and open the console directly, you land on the console’s project picker, where you can pick an existing platform project or create one.

Projects also carry a plan (free, starter, growth, pro, enterprise) which, among other things, gates access to pro-flow nodes in the graph editor — see Flows.

Owners and admins get an email, and the project an in-app notice, when a project reaches 80 % and 100 % of its plan’s included minutes; each alert is sent once per billing period. With on-demand spending turned on, the Usage page also takes an optional overage warning point and stop point (in overage minutes, shown with their cost). Minutes beyond the plan are only charged while on-demand spending is on.

  • Flow — a conversation design, either simple or graph type (see Flows).
  • Flow version — a saved snapshot of a flow’s configuration; one version is active at a time.
  • Agent profile — the model/voice/language configuration a flow runs with.
  • Knowledge base — a set of ingested documents/URLs an agent can query for answers.
  • Phone number — a Nairon-provided, partner-provided, or externally-trunked number attached to a flow.
  • API key — a publishable or secret project-scoped credential (see API keys).
