Knowledge bases

See Knowledge bases for the underlying model. This page covers the practical steps.

  1. Go to Knowledge Bases in your project and click New Knowledge Base.
  2. Give it a name (e.g. “Billing FAQ”, “Product Docs”).

From the KB page, Add Datasource:

  • Upload a file — PDF, DOC/DOCX, Markdown, JSON, CSV, or XML.
  • Add a website URL — Nairon crawls the page (and can be re-crawled later if the page changes).

Each datasource shows an ingestion status (indexing → active); wait for it to finish before relying on it in a live flow.

  • Simple project: add your website and documents on the Your information step of guided setup, or later from Knowledge. Each website is one source, even if you enter several pages of it; the Knowledge Q&A skill answers from it.
  • Advanced project: reference the KB from a pre-hook knowledge_query lookup, or a knowledge node in the conversation graph.

Use re-index on a datasource after you’ve changed the source document, or index all to refresh an entire KB at once — Nairon does not detect edits to an already-uploaded file automatically.
