Internal Agents

An Internal Agent is a separate agent type from a Simple or Advanced project’s customer-facing agent. It is set up by your team (not created through the same project wizard a customer-facing project uses) and is meant for privileged, internal use — where taking a moment longer to get an answer right is an acceptable trade for a customer-facing conversational agent’s snappier pace.
What it does today
Section titled “What it does today”An Internal Agent keeps one persona and one fixed tool set for the whole session — there is no mid-conversation hand-off between different specialized agents, unlike an Advanced project’s flow.
- CRM tools. Once a HubSpot connection is configured for the agent, it can look up a contact, search contacts, companies, or deals, read a deal’s details, create or update a deal, log a call, and create a note or a task — each as its own tool with clearly named fields (a phone number, a deal amount, a stage), not a single free-text instruction. This keeps the agent from guessing at a record ID or a deal stage it was never given.
- An optional knowledge lookup, when a knowledge base is attached to the agent — the same retrieval a Simple project’s knowledge skill uses.
- A caller check before it answers, when the agent is reached by phone: the caller’s number is matched against an Auth Directory entry, and the caller must enter the right PIN on the keypad before the agent proceeds.
How it’s reached
Section titled “How it’s reached”The first integration target is HubSpot, reachable over a web/text test session for now. A phone-facing path is planned but not part of this preview.
